About MedNext
Our mission is to build the tools doctors need to learn, train, and practice — from medical education to specialty training portfolios to clinical drug reference.
Our Story
MedNext was founded by NHS doctors who saw the same problems across every stage of a medical career: scattered tools, expensive resources, and workflows that weren't designed for how doctors actually work. We set out to build one platform that covers learning, training, and clinical practice.
Today MedNext operates three products. MedNext Academy provides structured medical education, MCQ practice, and clinical reasoning modules in 39 languages. MedNext Portfolio helps doctors prepare UK specialty training applications across all 82 specialties with evidence workflows, self-assessment scoring, and Oriel-ready export. MedNext Formulary is a comprehensive drug reference with 2,866 drugs, 14,676 interaction pairs, AI-powered search, and dosing calculators.
Our team brings together experience across clinical medicine, medical education, and healthcare systems — spanning surgery, radiology, and primary care. That breadth informs every decision we make, from specialty config design to dataset curation.
Our Clinical Team
MedNext is developed and maintained by practising NHS doctors with direct patient care experience across surgical and medical specialties. Our clinical team collectively brings decades of frontline prescribing knowledge to the platform.

Editorial Review Process
Accuracy is a clinical requirement, not a feature. Our editorial process is designed to meet the standard expected of a tool used at the point of care.
MedNext Audited Proprietary Clinical Dataset
All drug monographs are compiled from the MedNext Audited Proprietary Clinical Dataset — a curated, internally maintained pharmacological reference that undergoes structured editorial oversight before publication.
Clinical review before publication
Every drug entry is reviewed by a clinician prior to being made available in the app. Entries are not generated automatically or published without human oversight.
Regular updates to reflect current practice
The dataset is updated on a continuous basis to reflect changes in approved dosing, new safety signals, and evolving prescribing guidance relevant to the UK and international clinical contexts.
Cross-referenced against authoritative pharmacological sources
Monograph content is cross-referenced against multiple authoritative pharmacological and clinical sources to ensure internal consistency and accuracy across drug classes.
Interaction data verified against pharmacological evidence
Drug interaction data is verified against known pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic evidence. Interaction severity classifications are assigned based on clinical relevance and published evidence of harm.
